When King Janmejaya came to know that his father's death was due to Takshak Naag , he decided to perform a huge snake sacrifice (Sarpasatra) in revenge . This sacrifice was so powerful that all the snakes of the world were drawn into it and fell into the fire and were reduced to ashes.
